Tony Castillo,

Tony is a native Houstonian who has spent 13 plus years working in education at YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, Texas. Tony has held multiple positions over his time at YES and currently serves as Head of Schools. In this role, Tony is the direct manager/coach of 6 Principals.

When asked why AMA is important and dear to him, here is what Tony shared:

The AMA program is sincerely important to me. This work is a social justice issue we are facing when any student feels that they don’t belong and can’t be served adequately. I believe that if you are an adult who has power, influence and ability, you are inherently privileged. I and we must use this privilege to support students who are not. Leaders can make this happen and I must make this happen.
