Jamie Gutter,
Coach
Jamie is moving into his 7th year as the principal of Valor Flagship. He was a member of our founding team as the founding 5th grade math teacher before moving into an assistant principal for one year. Before Jamie was a part of Valor's team, he worked at a local elementary school here in Nashville through Teach for America. Through Teach for America, he received my master's degree at Lipscomb University and has served as an instructional coach through Teach for America's summer institute. In the 2022-2023 school year, he was awared Tennessee Charter School Center's Adminstrator of the Year.
Outside of education, Jamie met my wife in Nashville in 2011 and we have two children, a daughter named Sophie and a son named James. I love spending time with my family, playing or watching good basketball, and trying new things in the kitchen.
Jamie joined All Means All due to wanting to serve all of the students in our building in a more effective way. Over the years, his school had academic data that showed that while they were a successful school, there were certain students who weren't progressing as much. He believed they had all the reasons they could do this work well and they needed a push to help us take the next steps to support all learners. Through being a part of the cohort, Jamie learned a ton both about supporting all learners and about effective school leadership. Jamie is excited to continue to learn from and support school leaders in this critical work in the coming year to ultimately impact our students.
