Abby Upperman,
Coach
Abby spent the 23-24 school year serving as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at LEAD Cameron in Nashville, TN. She served there for 7 years, where she taught math for several years before moving into her beloved instructional coaching role until 2022. From there, her experience with and passion for good teaching, student success, and leader development made serving as the Assistant Principal of Instruction a great fit. Abby graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Human Development + Family Studies and Communication Arts. She pursued an alternative teaching certification pathway through Teach For America upon graduation and taught for two years in Memphis, TN before graduating with her Master of Science in Education degree from Johns Hopkins University. Since June of 2024, Abby has stepped back from working in a school directly to invest time and resources into a professional coaching certification program, as well as explore other interests/opportunities that align to short and long-term personal and professional goals. She is energized to the core and deeply passionate about developing people through coaching and has a big heart for transformational leadership in education - she is a proud result of it!
